Stump Grinding

Stump Grinding

Safe use of Specialised Machinery

When trees are felled or fall, their stumps should be removed to prevent suckering (where new shoots arise from the trunk and roots) and fungal root rots. Although often large and heavy, stumps can be removed with the right equipment and technique.

Using a special machine called a grinder, which has metal teeth attached to a wheel that rotates at high speeds, we can remove the stump and surface roots to below ground level in a process known as stump grinding. This process will allow replanting or ground preparation for just about any purpose.

An expert Professional Service

Tree stumps can be physically removed at any time. Ideally, you should hire a tree surgeon to remove stumps which they can do after felling the tree. We offer a professional tree stump removal service using modern equipment, which minimises ground disturbance. We are equipped to tackle any size stump, from just a few inches to the largest stump.

It’s helpful to consider how far you would like the stump ground. Shallow grinding is usually sufficient for laying turf, but you could opt for deeper if replanting or landscaping. The leftover sawdust can be kept to fill in the hole, used as mulch in other areas of the garden, or taken away.
Stump grinding should always be carried out by a qualified professional. Our team is highly experienced with stump removal. They will ensure this is carried out to the utmost safety standards and will ensure the stump is removed properly and effectively.
